Reed 151 Launch Party with T.C. Boyle
On September 21, Reed Magazine and the Center for Literary Arts of San José will host the launch of Reed Magazine: Issue 151, The California Edition. The event will include a reading by some of the award-winning contributors, as well as a reading by T.C. Boyle, whose short story “Chicxulub” appears in Issue 151.
VIP & SJSU Alumni ticket-holders are invited to join us on the Rooftop Terrace of the Hammer Theatre for a special reception and book signing opportunity with T.C. Boyle. Refreshments and live jazz, courtesy of SJSU’s Latin Jazz Band, will be provided.
This event is open to the public. Guests are encouraged to arrive at 6:15 PM for a California-themed performance by SJSU’s a capella group Pitch, Please!

The Martha Heasley Cox Lecturer
T.C. Boyle is the author of twenty-eight booksof fiction, including The Relive Box, The Terranauts, The Harder They Come, The Tortilla Curtain and the forthcoming novel, Outside Looking In. His short stories appear regularly in The New Yorker, Harper’s and other magazines and he has collected them in two volumes, T.C. Boyle Stories (1998) and T.C. Boyle Stories II (2013). He has been the grateful recipient of a number of literary awards, most recently The Jonathan Swift Prize, The Mark Twain Voice in American Literature Award and The Henry David Thoreau Award for Nature Writing. He is Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus at USC, where he founded the creative writing program and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.All events are open to the public and wheelchair accessible.
